Mortal Kombat: Annihilation (1997)(IMDB 2.9/10)

Where the original movie left off finds Liu Kang, Sonya Blade, Rayden, Princess Kitana and Johnny Cage up against emperor Shao Kahn and his extermination squad led by Ermac, Motaro, Sheeva and Rain. Kahn's plan is to merge Earth with Outworld into one realm by resurrecting Kitana's mother, Queen Sindel. After the death of Johnny Cage, the warriors flee from Liu Kang's temple where Rayden tells me they are no more rules because Kahn broke them and the only way they can defeat them is to bring peace into Sindel's spirit and they have seven days to do it. Rayden then sends Sonya to find his partner Jax, while Kitana and Liu Kang goes looking for Nightwolf so they can help them defeat Shao Kahn

Plot Summary: Many millennia ago, the Earth was a young and desirable planet. Powerful and rich with natural resources, the vicious megalomaniac, Shao Khan wanted Earth as part of his growing collection of conquered realms known as Outworld. To protect the Earth (a.k.a. Earthrealm) from Shao Kahn, Mortal Kombat - a tournament in which the fate of the planet is decided in battles between competitors from Earthrealm and Outworld - was created. Kung Lao now had to train the next generation of warriors, who would give their lives to save the Earth. Kung Lao creates a partnership and friendship with two warriors Siro, a former bodyguard and Taja, an ex-thief. In the dark and mysterious city of Zhu Zin, Kung Lao and his new friends are guided and watched over by the thunder god, Raiden. The three now battle various evils of both Outworld and Earthrealm, including an imprisoned Tsung, who swore eternal revenge on Kung Lao for his humiliating defeat and his ally; the sultry and seductive Vorpax who is also imprisoned in the cobalt mines and has an agenda of her own.

Three children--Fly, Chuck and Stella--are on a clandestine fishing trip, when they stumble upon a mad professor whose potion transforms humans into fish. Stella innocently drinks the liquid, becomes a starfish and is thrown into the ocean. In an attempt to save her, the boys follow suit with Fly changing into a Californian flyfish and Chuck into a jellyfish.
The antidote falls into the hands (or fins!) of a pilot fish, Joe, who drinks it and acquires human intelligence, the power of speech, a tyrannical desire for world control and a following of militant crabs. The threesome has 48 hours to retrieve the antidote, or they will remain fish forever.
Traditional hand-drawn cartoons are interspersed with more modern computerised animations. The variety of life underwater is beautifully portrayed, adding greatly to the colour and interest of the film. There are several key themes including the importance of intelligence, determination and friends and of being kind to animals and respecting the environment.

The story is based around two friends, Mike and Sulley, who work at Monsters, Inc. They scare children and capture their screams to be used as an energy source. Scaring is done on a “scaring floor” where doors are retrieved by swiping a key-card and then hooked up to the Monsters, Inc. equipment where the scarer walks through the door which acts as a portal to the childrens’ bedrooms.
Mike is in charge of the paperwork and getting doors for Sulley, his scarer.
However, after Mike forgets the paperwork (again), Sulley retrieves his work for him, but finds a door in the empty scaring floor. He enters this door to investigate, but finds nothing. He returns to the scaring floor to finds a child has made the trip with him.
Now one thing to remember is that monsters are scared of children more than children of monsters. This child, now known as Boo, must be returned and it's up to Mike and Sulley to do this.
But the plot thickens when a fellow-scarer is seen to be cheating, but is actually up to more than meets the eye... umm, pardon the pun...

In Snow White, we find a very simple story. The existence of a princess named Snow White (voiced by Adriana Caselotti) threatens the vanity of her stepmother the Queen (Lucille LaVerne); according to the Spirit of the Magic Mirror (Moroni Olsen), Snow’s more beautiful, and Queenie can’t stand to have any competition in this area. As such, she sends a huntsman (Stuart Buchanan) to kill Snow. However, he can’t bring himself to slay her, so fakes it and simply warns her to go into hiding.

While lost in a spooky forest, Snow eventually happens upon a quaint little cottage which she soon learns is occupied by seven tiny dudes, the titular dwarfs. They quickly grow to love her as they all become one happy family. Unfortunately, the Queen learns that Snow’s still among the living, so she sets out to finish the job herself. She transforms herself into an old witch and tempts Snow with a poisoned apple. This appears to kill Snow, but by the end, a kiss from Prince Charming (Harry Stockwell) revives her, and the two live happily ever after. The queen gets hers as well.

The Fellowship has been broken. The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King (IMDB 8.8/10)

The War of the Ring reaches its climax as the dark lord Sauron sets his sights on Minas Tirith, the capital of Gondor. The members of the fellowship in Rohan are warned of the impending attack when Pippin cannot resist looking into Saruman's palantir and is briefly contacted by the dark lord. King Theoden is too proud to send his men to help without being asked, so Gandalf and Pippin ride to Minas Tirith to see that this request is sent. They meet opposition there from Denethor, steward of the city and father of Faramir and the late Boromir. Denethor's family has acted as temporary guardians of Gondor for centuries until a member of the true line of kings returns. This member is none other than Aragorn, who must overcome his own self-doubt before he can take on the role he was destined to fulfill. Meanwhile, Frodo and Sam continue to carry the One Ring towards Mordor, guided by Gollum. What they don't know is that Gollum is leading them into a trap so that he can reclaim the Ring for himself. Though Sam suspects his deceit, Frodo is starting to be corrupted by the Ring's power and the mistrust of Sam this causes is fully exploited by Gollum. The only way good can prevail in this contest is if the Ring is destroyed, an event that is becoming harder every minute for Frodo to achieve. The fate of every living creature in Middle Earth will be decided once and for all as the Quest of the Ringbearer reaches its climax.

Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone (IMDB 7.2/10 )

Young Harry Potter has to lead a hard life: His parents have died in a car crash when he was still a baby, and he is being brought up by his Uncle Vernon and Aunt Petunia. For some reason unbeknownst to the bespectacled ten-year-old, the Dursleys let him live in the small chamber under the stairs, and treat him more like vermin than like a family member. His fat cousin Dudley, the Dursley's real son, keeps bothering Harry all the time. On his eleventh birthday, Harry Potter finally receives a mysterious letter from a certain Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, telling him that he is chosen as one of the future students of that supposedly renowned school. Hagrid, the gigantic man who brought the letter, finally introduces Harry into the real circumstances of his life: His parents were a wizard and a witch, they were killed by the evil wizard Voldemort protecting him. Harry still has a lightning-shaped scar on his forehead from that event. Since he survived the attack as a baby, and also somehow deprived Voldemort from his powers, he has been famous in the wizarding world ever since. The Dursleys, strong disbelievers in that magical crap, never told Harry anything about his true self. So, Harry is strongly surprised, yet absolutely happy to start his training. At Hogwarts, Harry meets his teachers, and becomes friends with Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger. The three of them accidentally find out that the potions master, Severus Snape, seems to plot on stealing something that is guarded by a three-headed dog. Since nobody would believe some first years to have found out such important things that even would incriminate a Hogwarts teacher, they take it on themselves to find out what Snape is up to. Their quest for the truth leads across many obstacles, from keeping up the everyday school life, a bewitched Quidditch match (Quidditch is a popular wizard sport), Fluffy, the three-headed monster dog and quite some tasks one has to overcome to get to the guarded object.

Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets(IMDB 7.2/10)

Harry Potter is in his second year of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. He is visited by a house-elf named Dobby and warned not to go back to Hogwarts. Harry ignores his warning, and returns. He is still famous, although still disliked by Snape, Malfoy, and the rest of the Slytherins. But then, strange things start to happen. People are becoming petrified, and no-one knows what is doing it. Harry keeps hearing a voice.. a voice which seems to be coming from within the walls. They are told the story of the Chamber of Secrets. It is said that only Salazar Slytherin's true descendent will be able to open it. Harry, it turns out, is a Parsel-tongue. This means that he is able to speak/understand snakes. Everyone thinks that it's him that has opened the Chamber of Secrets because that is what Slytherin was famous for.

Approaching his third year at Hogwarts, Harry Potter has had enough of his muggle relatives. He runs away from them (finally) and enters his third term facing trouble from more than one side: for using magic outside the school and from the news that a notorious criminal, serial killer Sirius Black, has escaped the wizard's prison at Azkaban and apparently is headed for Harry. The school calls in supernatural help against Black in the form of Dementors, but unusual things continue to put Harry in peril. He is thrown into a confusing panoply of shifting alliegences and shifting shapes where nobody is who or what they seem. Who is the real criminal? What is the real crime? Who is telling or knows the truth?
